Made of Blood & Gold AR
Augmented reality layer for physical artworks with NFT marketplace integration
The Challenge
Artist Jônatas Chimen wanted to bridge his physical artwork collection with the digital art market. The goal: create an experience where collectors could discover hidden animated layers in his paintings—and purchase the digital originals as NFTs.
The Solution
We developed a web-based AR scanner that recognizes Jônatas’s artworks through image detection. When a collector points their phone at a painting, the app reveals an animated version of the piece—blood flowing, gold shimmering, elements moving that were frozen in the physical work.
Each animation includes a direct link to the NFT gallery where the digital version can be purchased, creating a seamless path from physical encounter to digital ownership.
How It Works
The system uses computer vision to identify each artwork without requiring QR codes or markers. This preserves the aesthetic integrity of the physical pieces while adding a digital layer of value. The web app works instantly—no download required.
The Impact
This approach transforms gallery visits and art fairs into interactive experiences. Collectors engage longer with each piece, and the path to purchase is shortened from “I’ll think about it” to “I can own this right now.”
